Learn About Our Windows
Our flagship product is the Evolution series window and door system. The Evolution series is the advanced aluminum window and door that is featured in Popular Science magazine for its ability to beat wood and vinyl windows in energy efficiency, durability and condensation resistance.
This window is perfectly suited for modern style residential construction as well as school, dormitory, hospital and other municipal building construction and renovation.
The Evolution system is available in the following configurations:
- Casement
- Awning (Project out)
- Fixed
- Terrace Door
The Evolution window was conceived and designed by Tom Gordon of Biltite. Machinery for its manufacture was designed and built by Tom and the Biltite team at their facility in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where the windows are manufactured.
Evolution windows are for the 21st century. Here’s why: the look fits in with the modern design aesthetic, they are wicked energy efficient, durability is superior to all other materials used to build windows (wood, vinyl, fiberglass) and the framing is made from aluminum extrusions, a natural element suited for green building practices.
In Tom’s words: “We find aluminum to be the perfect material for addressing our permanent need to build in accordance with green, sustainable practices and contribute to the success of the global economy. Think about this: aluminum is the most plentiful metal in the earth and it is the third most abundant element on planet after oxygen and silicon. An aluminum window can be completely recycled cheaply at the end of its lifespan. Maintenance is lower than vinyl, wood and fiberglass. Initial purchase cost is lower than wood and fiberglass. It does not shrink and swell in humidity like wood and it doesn’t emit deadly dioxin gases if burned like vinyl. Additionally, it has a natural corrosion and rust resistance, further enhanced through painting or anodizing, that isn’t found in other metals.”
